Single subject enrolment

Single-course enrolments are a school-to-school agreement. This page explains the process and provides the forms that must be completed for enrollment at FSDE. Please ensure that you follow the process step by step, complete all forms and provide the requested documentation.

Application checklist

This checklist is to help you make sure you have all the needed documents for your application.

Students enrolled in a NSW Government School

Students in a NSW Government School should have the following documents to send in with their completed application:

Completed Single Course Provision Application form
- Include a category for enrolment and supporting material
- All pages completed
- Signed by Principal, Supervisor, Parent/Guardian and Student
Languages Declaration for Stage 6 students (if applicable)
Unforeseen and Unique Circumstances Application form (if applicable)

Note: An inter school journal will be created by Finigan School of Distance Education if the enrolment application is approved.

Students enrolled in a non-government school

Students in a non-government school should have the following documents to send in with their completed application:

- All pages completed
- Signed by Principal, Supervisor, Parent/Guardian and student
Languages Declaration for Stage 6 students (if applicable)
Unforeseen and Unique Circumstances Application form (if applicable)

Tax invoice

A Tax Invoice will be created by the Education Centre if the enrolment application is approved.

Language eligibility declaration

Language eligibility declaration forms are designed to confirm your eligibility for a language other than English course.

This declaration is designed to help verify your eligibility for a Board of Studies 2 unit language course other than English. The information provided will be used to determine your eligibility for the Beginners or Continuers Course in your chosen language by the Principal of the school delivering the course.

Use this form if you are submitting an application for a Beginners or Continuers Language course.

Unforeseen and Unique application

Principals of the home school who seek enrolment outside the categories or quotas in these guidelines must provide a statement outlining the requirement for access to distance education single course provision. Department of Education schools should provide their request for consideration to their Director, Educational Leadership. Other education providers should provide their request for consideration to the Director, Educational Support and Rural Initiatives.

The Director should consider if:

policies or procedures have been followed
the educational and/or welfare needs of the student are able to be met from within the home school
there are other ways the home school can provide the subject requested (E.g through a connected classroom arrangement)
the distance education school or centre is the most appropriate option.
