This page will explain the process and provide the forms which must be completed for successful enrolment. Please ensure that you follow the process step by step, complete all forms and provide the requested documentation.
Introductory booklets
The purpose of these booklets is to provide you, the student and/or the supervisor, with an easy to use resource on how Distance Education works and how to make the most of your Distance Education experience here at Finigan.
We urge both student and supervisor to take the time to read through this booklet and refer back to it when questions or concerns arise. Please use this as your Distance Education survival guide. It provides all the important information you need to understand Distance Education.

Voluntary school contributions
Like all NSW public schools, we can request contributions to enhance our educational and sporting programs including elective subjects. School contributions help provide additional educational resources for the benefit of students. Payment is voluntary.

Subject contributions
Some subjects attract an additional cost for materials or equipment, such as Visual Arts, Information Technology and some Science based subjects.
Enrolment categories
Students in Years 7-12 can enrol in distance education under several different categories.
Applications must comply with the procedures for Enrolment in Kindergarten to Year 12.
Students must meet one of the conditions in the distance education procedures to be eligible to access this program as a full-time student.

Categories for full-time enrolment include:-
- 2.2 Students who are geographically isolated
- 2.3 Students travelling within Australia
- 2.4 Students travelling or temporarily residing overseas
- 2.5 Students with a medical condition
- 2.6 Pregnant students and/or young parents without appropriate local provision
- 2.7 Vocationally talented students
- 2.8 Students with additional learning and support needs
- 2.9 Students with significant support needs – short-term provision
- 2.10 Students in extraordinary circumstances

Language eligibility declaration forms are designed to confirm your eligibility for a language other than English course.
Languages Eligibility Declaration
This declaration is designed to help verify your eligibility for a Board of Studies 2 unit language course other than English. The information provided will be used to determine your eligibility for the Beginners or Continuers Course in your chosen language by the Principal of the school delivering the course.
Use this form if you are submitting an application for a Beginners or Continuers Language course.
